J5 Sub & Portsea Hole – Saturday 6th October 2012

J5 Sub & Portsea Hole – Saturday 6th October 2012

Divers:   Mick, Ben, Push, Youri, Chris, Trevor, Paul, Jason & Mark

The J5 Sub is always a great dive and a favourite of most divers, however, diving it last Saturday was even more special. Paul’s grandfather had been the Chief Engineer in control of the Sub when it had sailed out from the UK. Quite a lot of the photos that are around of the J5 Sub have been provided by Paul’s family. Paul had hoped to dive the sub as a part of his Deep diver certification however weather stopped the dive from proceeding. Last Saturday the weather was fine and the dive went ahead, we all enjoyed the dive & I hope Paul gets many more dives on his grandfathers Sub. Portsea Hole was interesting dive to say the least, although there was a still a slight current it had little impact on the dive as most of us were tied up completing tasks and practicing with our SMBs.
