Our boat skipper Geoff said the only reason he’s putting in the shot line is for the practice – because we could see the Sub from the surface & the line wasn’t required. This was always going to be a special dive. Our plan was to penetrate through the break but landing on the stern we immediately adjust that plan on the fly & enter through the very rear hatch. Swimming forward we swim through the Crews Quarters and then into the Engine Room, ending up in the Control room before turning the dive & swimming back to our exit point. The small amount of surge was just enough to make the swim interesting but had little real impact on our dive. Squeezing through the openings was a lot of fun & for the guys doing it for the first time this was an insight to what wreck diving really is like.
