Coogee – Saturday 8th September 2018

Divers: Des, Gary, Martin & Mark

I have spent the last couple of weeks explaining to my German visitor that the water was going to be quite a bit colder than he is used to. ‘No problem’ he said, of course he had just completed a 120m dive just last week in the Red Sea so a couple of hours in the water was not going to worry Martin. That is of course until he stepped off the back of the boat this morning into 13 degree water. Although he handled the situation very well, he did admit over coffee that he was very happy we didn’t rack up a lot of deco!! The dive conditions today were just perfect, the water was very flat as we transited the Heads and the viz was about 8-10m. Martin, who has dived all around the world, was very impressed with the wreck of the Coogee, this just goes to show just how good the dive sites we have here in Melbourne are. Unfortunately Martin flies to Sydney next Saturday afternoon and will therefore miss our Wareatea & J5 Sub dive next weekend.
