Rye Pier is still out of action due to renovations, and with the strong south/easterlies we we decided to dive at Rye Pier today. It turned out to be a good call, as conditions were perfect. The viz was OK at about 6-7 metres, the sea was flat & the water temperature was 18 degrees :). We did two dives today & although I didn’t seem to be in the right place at the right time. some of our crew were. With sightings of octopus, several Smooth Back Rays & plenty of fish. I don’t think Blairgowrie Pier is as good a dive site as some of other piers it does offer up some thing of interest at times.
