Auriga – Sunday 24th August 2014

Divers: Youri, Ben J, Tim, Pete, Andrew, Ben H & Mark

We had planned on diving the Hygeia, but an electrical issue on the boat put an end to that, so we dived the Auriga instead. Conditions were fantastic and the viz was 10 plus metres. The water temperature is up to 14 degrees and still getting warmer every week. For a sailing ship the Auriga has a lot to offer the diver, with the stern being the most interesting, unfortunately for us we started at the bow and ran out of time to really cover the stern and appreciate the amount of fittings etc to fossick around. All too soon our time is up and we have to start our 41 minute ascent from 58 metres to the surface. Well worth the time in the water!!
