South Channel Fort – Sunday 24th November 2013

Divers:  Ben, Cat, Daniel, Peter & Mark

With the Ebb tide running we dived on the south side of the Fort, the boat was crowded with Open Water classes. The Fort doesn’t have a lot of dive space on the Ebb Tide, at first I thought this dive was going to very disappointing, especially after our first dive, however once again we enter the water last and although between other divers and the current at first we can’t even find somewhere to swim after about 15 minutes we end back under the boat which tied up to the jetty. Here the dive becomes really interesting. As we make our way up the rocks all of a sudden we have the place to our selves, there seems to be an abundance of fish around even a few Sting Rays, with one medium sized ray swimming amongst us mid water, we even have a scallop swimming with us too. It just goes to show you never really can tell what it’s going to be like under underwater.
