Piggot – Saturday 13th August 2016

Divers: Ben, Youri, Omer, Richard & Mark

Perfect dive conditions once again, winter so often gives us such great dive conditions and we were keen to make the most of it. For weeks now we have been getting reports of Whales, although we do have Dolphins on every dive, we have not seen the Whales yet. The Piggot was a purpose built Steam Hopper Barge for the Melbourne Habour Trust, built in 1912 she was scuttled in 1935. The Piggot has plenty see and investigate, the bow is still intact however to me, the stern, is the most exciting. It stands up a couple of metres of the bottom and has plenty to see with the steering gear still in place.
