George kermode – Bucket List Dredge 28th April 2012

Vikki had all the Saturday Morning Divers organised for a double dive on the George Kermode bucket dredge wreck off Philip Island. I was looking forward to this as it offered a new, interesting dive and great boat trip round the Nobbies following by a barbecue lunch. What’s more it was my 57th birthday. Unfortunately the God of weather and Vic Dive conspired to cancel this dive.
I got to thinking about my advancing years and those lists of the all the things you want to do before you can’t or you kick the bucket which ever comes first. As you get older this list gains increasing importance and length while the time available decreases. So the George Kermode dive will remain un-ticked off for a while longer.
One of the other dives on my list was to dive the Great Barrier Reef . A dream I have had since I was a boy. First I had to learn to scuba dive which I did only few years ago with Aquability, despite living in the home of pearl diving, Broome, for 15 years. Finally the 40 year old dream came true in January on the Mike Ball Dive trip organised by Aquability. I will spare you the whole dive report, but it does give me an excuse to post these dive photos for the record.

Now what other dives should be on my list. Caribbean, New Guinea, any where in the Pacific, … I better get busy.
