Sponge Garden Drift – Sunday 2nd June 2013

Divers: Liz, Andrew, Dez, Marc, Phill, Vinnie  & Mark

The swell outside the Heads was just enough to stop us getting out to dive the J4 sub, however not all was lost!! The south/westerly wind meant that the Sponge Gardens were well protected and with all the great viz we have had lately this was always going to be a great dive – and no one was disappointed. The terrain was amazing as we drifted effortlessly over the reefs and bommies, stopping only occasionally to pick up the odd bottle or two. I don’t know exactly how much ground we covered but it certainly did seem like a lot & of course towards the end of our time we all wanted to just do one more small area just to see what treasures we might find.
