It’s days like today that make it all worth while getting up in the middle of the night, drive all the way to Portsea, carry stage bottles, weight belts, sets of twins down & dive bags down to the pier. Dead flat seas, 20+ metres viz, descending with dolphins, and what a nice wreck, the Pioneer, a steel steam driven dredge. Our team swam first to the stern to inspect the twin props and rudder, then a slow swim to the bow, investigating the sides, back to the shot line for our ascend. Amazing dive, doesn’t get much better than this.
