Mornington Pier – Saturday 29th April 2017

Standing on the pier as the rain drizzled down, thoughts were turning to calling the dive and going straight to breakfast. But the water looked great and of course once we had kitted up and entered the water we were certainly glad that we went to the effort. Renee and I wanted to get to the end of the pier and check out the fish life, it was  amazing, I’ve never seen Mornington like this before, huge schools of Snapper at both ends of the pier and plenty of other fish to be found on the swim out there. The water was a bit green due to the recent rain, but other wise the water was great, 17 degrees and once the sun did shine through the viz seemed better. The fishermen on the pier must have caught some dinner, we could not swim anywhere with out being surrounded by fish. We meet up with the boys on our swim back, they were just finishing up after spending some time honing their skills. Lunch, of course, was a priority and after a coffee and burger we were all on our way home – all having come away better for the experience of having done the dive.
