Last Saturday we departed from Portsea Pier on 'Seadragon' and headed out through the Heads, in near perfect conditions, to dive the ex HMAS Canberra. With very little swell, we geared up and did a giant stride into our next diving adventure! As we descended we could see the shape of the ship forming before us. Deon and I headed down a shaft on the flight deck and ran the gauntlet through the ship towards the bow. We ascended from the chain locker and swam along the starboard side to get a grasp of just how majestic this ship really is. Mid ship, we ducked back inside the ship and swam back towards the stern. The thing that I noticed this time as I made my way around the ship was the increase in marine life. Sea tulips were growing in large gardens on the deck and there were plenty of schools of fish. I really enjoyed this dive and so did my buddy Deon who couldn't wipe the 'birthday smile' from his face!!!!
