The Grotto - 5th February

Visibility: 10+m Water Temperature: 21 Degrees

Divers: Mel, Brad, Ken, Trevor, Victoria, Mark, Deon, Mick, Norm, Mark, Vikki

The Grotto is a great dive comprising of bommies, crevasses, swim-thru's and amazing marine life. The variety of fish at The Grotto is second to none. Amongst the rocky formations and weed, we spotted Blue Devils, a Fiddler Ray (which Brad was kind enough to point out to Mel & I coz we were so busy fish spotting that we swam straight over it), schools of Boarfish, and a huge variety of Sea Stars.
Slack water provided us with ideal conditions to thoroughly enjoy all that this site has to offer. With the extra depth that this site provides we were able to practice holding our safety stops and to improve our trim in the water.
Lunch at the Rye Hotel afterwards gave us all a chance to discuss what a great dive we just had!!
