The first day, meeting at the airport, set the tone of the trip. Those that didn't have a hangover had stayed up all night. However, all was well when the check in guy seemed to forget about the weighting of our luggage, so with our 30 kilos in bags & 15 kilos in hand luggage & no excess fees we were organised & on our way.
Today was our check out dives & the group spent a few hours setting up equipment and making sure we had all the gear we need for the next 9 days of diving. A few new toys came out, mainly torches & cameras and if tonights reports are anything to go by everyone seems happy with their lot. For most of the team this is their first time on the Coolidge. The sheer size of the ship is what seems to be what impresses us the most. Our first dive today was spent on the outside getting an orientation of the overall wreck, however the second dive sees us swimming into areas such as the Medical Centre, Cargo Holds 1 & 2 and the Chain Locker seeing the jeeps, drop tanks and hundreds of individual artefacts and of course we swim past the famous row of toilets!!
