Our expectation was for thunderstorms for today's "Clean Up Australia Day" shore dive. But, with the sun shining, the only storm brewing was the one that the Saturday Shore Divers were creating under the Rye Pier as they worked feverishly collecting a year's worth of rubbish that has been thoughtlessly tossed into our precious bay. As the divers" worked their fins off" under the water we had a strong surface crew supporting them, emptying catch bags and taking the bulkier items from them so the could continue their rubbish collecting. Surface crew also collected rubbish from around the car park & foreshore area. As diligent as the divers were they still managed to see not 1, but 2 large stingrays, an octopus, many groups of schooling fish and Bek took some great photos of a Stargazer. A special thanks to all the divers and surface crew for volunteering your valuable time to support this very worthy cause.
