Just over a week ago Andy, Lazlo, Carl, Pusendu and Liz joined me for an Advanced Open Water Course. Saturday afternoon and evening were spent at Rye Pier, which for those of you who have never dived there, has a great abundance of life. Goat Fish, Yellowtail, Baby Whiting, Crabs, Stingaree's, Globe Fish, Big Bellied Sea Horses, Flathead, Flounder, Old Wives, Leatherjackets and more. Just to add to the entertainment Liz and Carl were buzzed by a seal on the night dive who spent about 30 mins travelling up and down the pier entertaining those above and below water. The two large Stingrays which have taken up residence there seem to have evaded capture by fishermen so far, lets hope that continues. Andy shot some video during the afternoon, a small amount of which we have uploaded. Unfortunately the day was mostly overcast so the visibility wasn't what it can be there, but the surface conditions were ideal with absolutely no chop or swell.
