With the promise of beautiful sunshine and good water conditions, we met down at Ricketts Point to see if we could find any of the Port Jacksons that have been spotted there recently. The tide was in, so we were able to reach a 'swimmable' depth of water fairly close to the shore. We entered in front of the Yacht club and we made our way towards the red and green markers. The sea floor is just an amazing display of marine life. Being a marine reserve, there were countless species of Sea Stars, Sea Urchins and Nudibranchs, along with schools of Whiting, Toad Fish, Norman, Rock Flathead, a Stingray nestled under a ledge and a very large Eastern Fiddler Ray. Quite a few of us saw the Eastern Fiddler Ray, which makes me think that there was probably more than one of them. The variety of weeds and sponges was quite amazing. This is a very healthy and thriving marine reserve that we'll be diving again soon.

Thanks to Deon for the photo of the Rock Flathead
