Conditions were always going to be suspect and it was a day by day vigil of the weather charts just to make sure we would even dive. With all of the planned sites being cancelled because of the strong Southerly breeze, Portsea Hole was a very popular place. Viz was down a bit on what it usually is but the 4-5 metres still allowed for a reasonable dive. Our second dive was South Channel Fort, a very good choice by PP in the circumstances, although the surface conditions were ordinary at best once under the water conditions were OK. We dive the northern side, first completing the required skills and then taking a bit of tour, my group swam down to the jetty pylons, there were more stingrays than water here and the fish life was plentiful as well, we covered most of the area we could peaking into gaps & crevices as we swam. It's always a hard call when dealing with the weather and sometimes you just get it wrong, but I think this time I think they got it right!
