Popes Eye - 17th November

Divers: Jason, Matt, Baz & Mark (RB)
Viz: 20 metres
Pope's Eye has always had a reputation of being boring, simply because it is a training site and most divers dive it multiply times early in their diving careers. But before it was a training site it was a dive site and quite a good one at that. Although we were also training, we had plenty of time to look around. Having completed our required skills we decided to go for a bit of a swim. I thought if we swam one way until we hit the current then swam back the other way until we hit the current this would allow us to cover the maximum amount of the site possible. So off I swam towards the east, and I swam and I swam. Guess what?? No current, just like Forrest Gump we went on and on and on!! Once we had past the half way mark I knew were going all the way around, because there is no point turning back!! We did 2 dives at Popes Eye today and there was plenty to see on both dives, those of you who have seen the anchor chain will know what I mean. Also there are some changes happening at Popes Eye which I think will see more divers wanting to dive there!!
