Water Temp: 19 degrees
Vis: 6m
Divers: David, Linda Aids
Last Tuesday I got to dive mornington with a couple of divers. Unfortunately the vis monitor was not on duty that day and forgot to order good vis. No matter being summer there was no shortage of fish to check out. We came across the large stingray that frequents every pier in Melbourne, or at least his cousin or something. Large schools of old wives hung in the first break in the pier along with sweep and several magpie perch. As we headed down the pier we pushed a very large school of long finned pike in front of us, there would have been a couple of 100 easy. When we reached the end of the pier before turning to head back we came across several pinky snapper with a lot of silverbelly and goatfish also hanging around. This was a great dive and I was thinking if only the vis was 20m it would have been awesome.
