The work is well underway on the pier renovations, which is something we all need to be aware of if wanting to dive the pier. It is now a construction zone and should be treated as such when diving. Unlike the solo diver (who's mate refused to dive with him after his attitude to the workers on the pier) we approached the site foreman, asked permission to dive and came to an arrangement with the guy. He in turn radioed the barge which was in the process of dumping 5 ton of rock around the jetty, & got the all clear from the barge skipper for us to dive, too easy. No the conditions were not great, but we were doing a training dive and we were able to complete all that we had to do.
