Divers: Michael, Darren, Brenden & Mark
The contractors have been busy working on the rebuilding of the pier, although it still won't be finished for summer they are going to open it up to the public for the month of January. Which means some good access for divers. The fish life won't return for quite some time, but Mornington Pier still is and always has been a great dive site. One of the reasons why I like Mornington Pier is as an training site, the 8-10 metres depth and the fact that the inside of the harbour is a bit silty - leaving no doubt if someone touches the bottom!! We had 90 minutes on the bottom and only just got through the drills we needed to do, at least the boys carrying 5 tanks had plenty of gas!!
