Mordialloc Pier 14th July

Mordialloc Pier 16 July 2011
Divers: Deon, Mick
Vis: 10+
Temp: 9 degrees

Walking along the pier was already a good sign - the sea was dead flat, and we could clearly see the bottom. Whilst putting on our hoods, gloves and fins, we were being watched by a large number of people, probably wondering why two seemingly sane humans were going to jump into such cold water. Tide was way out, so our stride off the pier was a giant 2 metre drop. Once we descended, it was well worth braving the very cold 9 degrees. Excellent visibility of 10+ metres, no other divers to stir things up, and no current. We spotted 4 seahorses, a number of very large pufferfish, and numerous starfish of many shapes & colours. Although it was cold we really enjoyed the dive and it was well worth it, nice diving in 10m vis.
