Lonsdale Wall
Divers : Neil, Darren & Mark
Our planned dive was the Sir William McPherson, however with the large swell still running all 'outside' dives were cancelled. As this was a training dive all we needed was a bit of depth (54metres) and enough time to complete an ascent & all the associated skills. Geoff our boat driver was very accommodating in finding a part of the wall that suited all the divers on the boat and what's more he put the shot line as close the edge of the wall as possible for us - getting down to 54metres takes time and when we are doing a slack water dive time is very limited. The conditions were great although it started to get dark around the 40 metre mark, but unlike Portsea Hole where the action is all around 16-22 metres on the Wall there is plenty to see all the way down to the bottom. We don't have much time to be admiring the view but this is a training dive and once the boys are qualified they can come back for a pleasure dive to check it out in more detail.
