Today we dived a section of Lonsdale Wall known as 'Devil's Drop Off'. Upon descending the shot line we arrived to a sea floor lush in healthy kelp. Hiding beneath the kelp were Leatherjackets and Wrasse, whilst above them swam schools of Old Wives and Southern Hulafish. It didn't take us long to reach the edge of the wall and to drop over the edge to explore the ledges and crevasses. Blue Devils galore. Gorgeous Sea Fans, Bryozoans, a huge variety of soft corals and Sea Stars, and fish absolutely everywhere!!! We took our time, shining our torch into every nook and cranny searching for a cray. Finally we spotted a really large cray, that must have known it was in a marine reserve coz it didn't make the slightest effort to abscond. We took our photo of the beauty and headed back to the surface, Thanks Nicky for a great dive!!!
Vikki
Thanks to Deon for the photos of the Eastern Fiddler Ray, the fish and the Sea Horse :
