On my last dive to the Glenelg I noticed that the site had been disturbed, the bottle that had sat on the engine flange for all those years was not there anymore and also some of the other bottles were out of place. I reported this to Heritage Victoria, they then arranged a permit for SOE to remove the few remaining artefacts left at the site. A team of 12 divers drove down to Yarram on Thursday night and booked ourselves in to a hotel for the night. The conditions were as good as ever as we crossed the McLachlan's Beach bar, we had spent quite a bit of time formulating the dive plan, which was more like a military manoeuvre than a dive plan and relied on all team members completing their allotted task. All went well and were able to photograph, catalogue and relocate 25 bottles. There are still more that need to be relocated and we plan to get back as soon as possible to finish off the job.
