Viz: 20 metres
Scuttled in 1989, she is a twin screw steamer sunk in a comfortable 23 metres of water. A typical 60 miler, she has fore & aft cargo holds with the bridge at the stern. The penetration started at the bridge, we entered through a small hatch in the rear deck, making our way towards the bow we swim down 3 deck levels, first passing through the crew amenities - the hand basins & head are still in situ. Into the galley the table and seat bases are still bolted down to the floor and then down another level and we're in the engine room. There are lots of little bit n pieces to find in the corners and on ledges etc. The ship is very much still intact, we swim towards the bow, the f'ward mast still stands proud, reaching for the surface in defiance of time and the currents. However, the empty hawser is a stark reminder that this once hard working ship will no longer ply her trade in this waters.
