Keith and I made our way to Blairgowrie ready to take heaps of photos of the amazing little creatures under the pier. Keith had his brand new 400D Ikelite, so he was super keen to get it wet. Well hopefully not literally wet!!
We entered the water to find it a little murky - approximately 5m viz and not too cold, which was a nice surprise as I was prepared for worse. There were lots of sand gobies, swimmer crabs lurking about and short headed seahorse hiding in a shell. We also spotted a flounders out on the sand along with some goatfish. We both spent some time taking photos, while we slowly made our way up the pier and we happened upon a Big Bellied Seahorse who was quite photogenic. We took our time heading up the pier so didn't even make it to the end when we were down to 100 bar so we turned around and slowly headed back to shore, taking the opportunity to take a few photos of a small black stingray resting near a pylon.
It ended up being a really nice dive and I was very glad just to be back in the water again.
