It was the end of the Ebb Tide so the viz was never going to be good, however the sun was out & the seas were flat which made for a pleasant day. The tide was still running a little as they dropped us into the water so we decided not worry about te shot line, we just descended down the 12 metres to the bottom & set a compass bearing for south/east. It was too long before we had reached the edge of the wall & descending down to our 30 metres
Slowly swimming along the wall we are ascending as we go. This was a fantastic part of the wall and even though the viz was not great poking our heads into every 'nook n cranny' made for an interesting dive.

Unfortunately the viz was not much better outside the Heads and once we reached the bottom of the shot line there was no wreck to be seen. So we took a compass bearing to where we thought it might be and started swimming. By this time another couple had joined us, because "you looked like you knew what you were doing" then after another 5 minutes of swimming we came across another class of 5 students and their instructor who also decided to follow us. We now had 80% of the people from the boat with us. It was clear to me after quite a few minutes that we has swam past the wreck, so I then decided to change my heading 120 degrees to the east. After a few more minutes I was starting to run a few things through my mind as to why I didn't find the wreck, what excuse did I have to explain to this crowd of people that we had become, exactly what went wrong!! Then just as all looked lost and hopeless out of the dark and gloom the shadow appears - we found it!! Climbing back on board the boat at the end of the dive an anxious skipper asks "did you find it??" "Of course I did" I reply - enough said!!

Sunday proved to be the best conditions, the viz had picked up to 15+ metres outside the heads, water was flat and skies blue. We a few tekkies on the boat so we let them kit up & get off before we even need to worried about getting ready, for their 25 minute bottom time was longer than our planned run time. When we did get in we descended down onto the stern of the boat, checking out the rudder etc before ascending up to the deck & the swimming towards the bow checking out the points of interest, one of which is looking down into the hatch that had been cut into the deck to allow for the removal of the engines. The first thing that catches my eye is a nice shiny new reel laying up against the bulkhead. This was fortunate for Brenden O'S because he lost it 3 weeks prior when he and I did the dive together :!!

Although the viz was down a bit due to the Ebb tide we still had a very comfortable dive, swimming off the wall just to check out what was about down deep - after all we are doing a Deep Course. The top of the wall here defiantly has the most interesting diving because all there was out off the wall is sand.
