Blairgowrie Pier – Sunday 17th November 2013

Divers:  Cat, Ben, Daniel & Mark

We did two dives yesterday, the conditions were perfect for both. 15metre plus viz, oily flat water and the sun was shining all day. The sea life is starting to come back as the water starts to warm up. As soon as we walk into the water we are surrounded by schools of fish and we haven’t even put our head under the water yet. We spent most of our dives out at the T because it was bit crowded at times along the main part of the jetty, I’m sure the dive instructors that stop half way down a jetty to get their students to do skills wonder why groups of divers keep swimming through them. There were plenty of photographers making the most of the conditions, this is defiantly a favourite site for anyone with a camera – although I still think Mornington has a lot to offer the photographer, it’s just that a quick swimming fish is harder to capture that a slow moving nudi!! Of course you can always tell when the weather is starting to fine up as all the local car clubs hold their rallies along the foreshore and we are treated to some nice looking cars as the MG car club parade past the carpark, motors purring, roofs down and girls with scarfs.
